A Wichita native and the daughter of refugees, Kaitlin received her Bachelor’s degree in pre-communication sciences and disorders in 2022 through Wichita State, thinking speech therapy would be her path. However, Kaitlin had a change of heart and at her mom’s suggestion, decided to search for other options. A few post-grad life experiences and a couple of odd jobs later, Kaitlin felt she was still led to help others, but in the form of creating and modeling healthy relationships.
While looking for internships, Kaitlin came across HopeNet, reached out to them, and a few months later, got the call that led to meaningful experiences rich with learning and human connection. Currently, Kaitlin is working towards her Master’s of Education in Clinical Mental Health counseling at Wichita State University and is on the path to become a licensed professional counselor. She is looking forward to graduating in May 2026!
Outside of work, you can most likely find Kaitlin with her friends and family, getting her hands messy while making abstract art, wandering in nature, or frolicking around in a bookstore or coffee shop.
Kaitlin’s favorite part about her experiences at HopeNet is working with an organization whose mission is not only rooted in spreading hope and dignity, but reaching out with resources, affordability, and accessibility on both an individual and community level. Kaitlin hopes to provide a space of safety and relief from the intention of empowering clients with opportunities to learn, understand themselves, and how they can apply it to the rest of their story.
